Shooting people can be the hardest type of photography. For me, it took quite a bit of time to
learn how to shoot people right.
There are natural types of photos of people. These involve shots of people at the store, playing chess, running, etc
It is important to make these models look very natural. You've probably notice when taking pictures people automatically pose. WRONG! Guiding a model to be natural can be hard. Then there are the other types of people pictures you see such as people smiling at the camera with money i their hands, etc. These are difficult as well. I actually think thse are harder.
I learned how to photograph people from many years of error. I look back on my years worth of beginning pictures and hate them all!
However, Photography Posing Secrets is a great resource that I ran upon that teaches how to properly pose models for great photographs.
It covers everything that I learned from experience and more. Posing Secrets not only covers basic posing but also goes in great detail about even the placement of the models feet and hands. A very interesting thing I got out of this program was that the author referred to the body as a silhoutte and not to look at the clothing of your model but rather the lines.
Unless you want to learn the way to properly pose models yourself from years of trial and error, I highly recommend you give Posing Secrets a try.
